Motorcycle Import Waiver
Apply to the Ministry of National Security for a waiver to import a motorcycle with a cylinder capacity between 601cc and 1000cc. Applications are made by members of a recognised Motorcycle Association or Club, and are processed by the Jamaica Constabulary Force, which carries out the character reference, police record and background checks before a decision is taken.

Check that you and the machine qualify. Applications that fall outside these limits cannot be processed through this portal.
Engine capacity
Between 601cc and 1000cc. Below 601cc no waiver is required; above 1000cc a special approval route applies.
Age of machine
No more than 5 years old, in line with the national motor vehicle import policy.
Club membership
You must be a member in good standing of a Motorcycle Association or Club recognised by the JCF.
Age of applicant
You must be at least 18 years old and hold valid identification.
A unique VIN
The 17-character VIN drives the application. Only one live application may exist per machine.
Clean police record
A Police Certificate dated within the last six months is required.
Documents you must upload
Have these ready as PDF, JPG or PNG files of up to 10 MB each.
Character Reference (Motorcycle Association/Club)
Signed reference on club letterhead from a registered Motorcycle Association or Club confirming your membership and good standing.
Police Record / Criminal Clearance Certificate
Police Certificate issued by the Jamaica Constabulary Force, dated within the last six (6) months.
Title / Deed / Export Certificate of the Motorcycle
Title, Log Book, Export Certificate or De-registration Certificate issued by the authority in the country of purchase.
Photo Identification
Clear copy of the identification document matching the type and number entered on the application.
TAJ Payment Receipt
Receipt for the application fee. Payment is made at Tax Administration Jamaica — this portal does not take payment. Upload the receipt and enter its number, date and amount so the reviewing officer can check it against TAJ records.
How your application is processed
Your application is made to the Ministry of National Security and processed on its behalf by the Jamaica Constabulary Force — Specialized Operations (SpecOps). Every application passes through each stage below, and the waiver is issued under the Ministry's authority once the JCF's checks are complete.
